The required level of purity for the regenerated acid depends on the process for which the acid is used; for instance, electrolytic pickling requires a higher level of acid purity compared to a dipping pickling plant.
An electrolytic pickling plant working with an integrated acid regenerating plant can operate consistently with the same voltage on the electrodes. This is because regeneration prevents an accumulation of parts in the bath, thus changing its electrical resistivity.
