The technology of electrolytic plating of steel and copper wire is commonly used in the wire and cable (conductor) industry. The coating metal depends on the function the plated wire will have. The technological sequences of a standard electrolytic plating line may be reassumed as follows:
Pre-treatment: cleaning of the wire surface and preparing it to plating; the cleaning (or degreasing) may occur in an electrolytic bath, in a hot water bath, in a chemical (acid or alkaline) bath, with the help of ultrasound. After cleaning, the surface is prepared in an activation bath
Treatment: electrolytic plating
Final treatment: rinsing and, when necessary neutralisation, final drying.
The Coseco lines for electrolytic plating may be listed as follows:
- Lines for electrolytic tinning of copper wire
- Lines for electrolytic coppering of steel wire for producing CCS conductors (Copper Clad Steel)
- Lines for Nickel plating of steel and copper wire
- Lines for electrolytic zincking of steel wire
- Lines for electrolytic coppering of steel wire for different applications
The lines are engineered in accordance to Customer’s requirements; a line may be for a single wire or multiwire. It is engineered to meet the Customer’s requirements of production capacity and thickness of plating, with vessels of the required length, current rectifiers of the required galvanic current, etc. The line may show a straight layout or an «U»- like layout. The lines come with the fume conveying system; according to Customer’s requirements, the line may be equipped with a Coseco scrubber and with other ancillary unit (for example, a water demineralizing plant).
